Millswyn St, South Yarra

This occupied residential apartment building required a full facade recladding in 1200 x 600 x 20mm porcelain, mechanically fixed throughout using Stone Clip fixings to replicate the existing facade as closely as possible. A full building measure and CAD drawings were completed by Stone Templating Victoria before work commenced, and every tile was pre-cut offsite with only minor fabrication performed on site.

Fixing method varied across the facade — where substrate conditions allowed, fixings were set directly into blockwork; elsewhere, a unistrut subframe was installed to carry the tiles further off the wall. With the building occupied throughout, the scaffold was fully wrapped and covered to keep the programme on track regardless of weather.
